Who is Ryan Starr?
Check out a little bit about me below!
I grew up in a small town north of Toronto, called King City, until 2009 when I moved to Niagara and enrolled at Brock University. At Brock University, I obtained my Bachelor of Sport Management in 2013. At that point, I knew I wasn't quite done school yet, so I went back and completed my Master of Arts with a focus of Sport Management, also from Brock University. After graduating from that program in 2016, I moved to London, where I became with Director of Branding and Communications with the London Knights.
I was incredibly fortunate to start my career at that time with the London Knights as within my first few months of starting with the team, we won the Memorial Cup Championship. We had players on that team that have turned into star NHL players, like Mitch Marner, Matthew Tkachuk, Robert Thomas, and many more. In this role, I was responsible for developing and strengthening emotional connections with our fans in order to have them develop a stronger affinity towards our organization. This is a skill that is of the utmost importance in real estate. Being able to emotionally market a home is a differentiator in today's marketplace.
In 2018, I started working at Fanshawe College on a part-time basis. I have taught many classes, all of which are in the Marketing and Sales programs. I continue to teach at Fanshawe College, and it provides me with insight when determining industry best practices and updated technologies.
In 2019, I left the Knights to pursue a career with the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario as the organization's Marketing Program Manager. During my time with the YMCA, we saw many amazing successes and challenges. Working with an organization like the YMCA was a great way to see how impactful organizations can be on local communities, especially during pandemic times.
In 2022, I left the YMCA to enter the real estate profession. By leveraging my skills and knowledge from these previous roles, as well as my up-to-date learning and teaching at Fanshawe College, I will be able to help you accomplish your real estate goals in any manner.
While I am thankful for my professional career, I am even more thankful for my amazing family. My beautiful wife Julie, my enthusiastic son Joey, my soon to arrive second baby, and my dog Quill have supported me every day.
